I involved the best wine influencers to draw up a ranking of the best

First the DOC of the label, this is my must. That is, let me explain: first you have to choose which wine you want to drink and then choose the producer from those available in the menu of a restaurant or on your favorite e-commerce site. There are large wineries that work at an excellent level on every type of wine produced, but usually each winery has its flagship wine. Here, you know me, I always aim for that. But for once, I stepped aside and asked friends – influencers, sommeliers and wine experts – to tell them what their favorites are and which producer they recommend. At the start the question and answer, with blows of bubbles and sips.

What is your favorite wine doc? “Champagne AOC”.

Tell us about the first time you tried this wine?

“My first time was at the Nuovo Carretto restaurant in Ciriè, even if it was a very simple bottle. It was a Drappier Cart d’Or if I’m not mistaken, but it was love at first sight, indeed, at the first sip “.

“The versatility of champagne is unique, it can accompany any food, but above all it is ideal at any time. Quoting Madame Bollinger: “I drink Champagne when I’m happy and when I’m sad. Sometimes I drink it when I’m alone. When I have company I consider it mandatory. I sip it when I’m not hungry and I drink it when I am. Otherwise I won’t touch it, unless I’m thirsty ”. Here, how can you not love such a wine? “

Your favorite producer?

“It’s hard to name just one, but if I were to find myself on a desert island, I’d take a bottle of Selosse champagne with me”.

What is your favorite wine doc?

“Barolo DOCG”.

Tell us about the first time you tried this wine?

“It was a September evening, I was at the table of a well-known Turin restaurant when I was paired with a glass of Barolo. What happened next to my taste buds, I’m still trying to understand ”.

“The King of wines and the wine of kings, is a wine that could remind the boxer Muhammad Ali, light as a butterfly and pungent as a bee! If you love wine, you can’t help but love Barolo ”.

Your favorite producer?

“Aldo Conterno”.

What is your favorite wine doc?

“As a bubbly lover if I have to choose an Italian doc like Trentodoc”.

Tell us about the first time you tried this wine?

“I don’t think I remember a real” first time “, but I hypothesize as an aperitif, now several years ago”.

Tell us what you like about this wine

“Generally, Trento Docs have freshness, elegance and minerality ‘that are hardly found in other Italian bubbles”.

Your favorite producer?

“I would undoubtedly say Ferrari, with Giulio, named after the founder, who is, in my opinion, the best in Italy”.

What is your favorite wine doc?

“If I have to talk about my favourite wine DOC, I cannot fail to mention the Trento DOC. Since I approached the world of wine I have always been fascinated by the classic Italian methods; in particular the Ferrari cellars. The strong point that makes this company great is certainly the possibility of producing at high altitudes, giving their wines an exceptional minerality that is the master of them “.

“They are wines of great structure and acidity capable of being able to rest in the cellar for years to stand up to the great Champagnes”.

Your favorite producer?

“Ferrari, with Giulio Ferrari Riserva Del Fondatore, preferably in vintages like 2001 or 2004 which today in my opinion are perfectly balanced, at the peak of the evolutionary curve. For the most passionate, I also recommend trying the Giulio Ferrari Collezione 2001 recently released on the market, the maximum expression of this fantastic classic method. I got to drink it in November 2020 and I certainly consider it the best Ferrari ever drunk! “

What is your favourite wine doc? “Definitely Champagne! I have always been a lover of the classic method which has no equal for my palate. And in this context – although in Italy there are some products vinified by small producers, little known but of the highest level – the bubbles from beyond the Alps certainly have an extra boost “.

Tell us about the first time you tried this wine?

“Really many years ago. I don’t remember exactly: as a wine lover I wanted to taste a little of everything that this magnificent world offers, appreciating more and more the classic method. After many tastings, I realized that Champagne was the product that responded 100% to mine taste. From the great cuvées of the Maison to the products of small and often known vignerons, I always feel at the beginning of the journey “.

“You never get bored. You would never want to change it. Or rather, you always change while remaining in the same region. There are so many variations of Champagne (from the choice of the blend, to the vintage, to the terroir, to the dosage …) that you will always find the right wine based on what you want at that moment, on the occasion, on the ‘pairing’.

Your favourite producer?

“Krug and Selosse. For me they represent two myths of Champagne. The first is a maison that has been able to make the art of assembly its hallmark; the second is the example of the vigneron who, thanks to his ideas, his style and the search for quality and authenticity, now “plays” in the same league as maision.

@Enoblogger aka Emanuele Trono (97,7K)

What is your favourite wine doc? “I must say that for a totally territorial and Piedmontese affiliation, one of my favorites is that of Dolcetto D’Alba Doc as I have seen it on my family’s tables since I was a child”.

Tell us about the first time you tried this wine?

“I must have been less than 10 years old, at a Christmas dinner, my grandfather made me taste it, that’s why I’m particularly attached to it. I didn’t like it then, I wasn’t ready, but some time later I went back to studying it and it sent me many emotions ”.

Tell us what you like about this wine

“I like its extreme territoriality. A very drinkable wine, which goes perfectly with the dishes of my tradition, I like the young and free-range notes of this native ”.

Your favourite producer?

“One of my favourites is undoubtedly Cordero di Montezemolo but also Prunotto and Paolo Scavino”.
